Tearoom

The tearoom is open seven days a week, 9.30am to 4pm.

Our menu includes sweet treats like freshly baked scones, cakes and brownies.

Breakfast is served between 9.30am - 12pm (Tues - Sun). Options include breakfast cobs, croissants and scrambled eggs on toast.

Lunch is served from 12pm - 2.30pm (Tues - Sun). We serve jacket potatoes, a range of toasties, sandwiches and savoury pastries.

Our kitchen is closed on Mondays, but you can still enjoy drinks and savoury pastries from the tearoom counter.

Please note that the tearoom is very popular so we cannot guarantee all menu options will be available when you arrive. Gluten free and vegan options are available subject to availability.

World War Two and the 'Idle Women'

To mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day, we spoke with local historian Jill Oakland about the little-known story of the efforts of the Inland Waterway women or 'Idle Women' who volunteered to operate canal boats carrying vital goods and supplies during the Second World War.
