Join our friendly Patchwork Group for a drink and a chat while learning this traditional craft which uses recycled materials to create something beautiful. Currently the group are meeting on Zoom every Monday from 10am to 12pm.

Come and join our friendly open art group. Every Wednesday evening from 7-9pm at the Canalside Heritage Centre we host varied life drawing study with a roster of live models. Holocaust Memorial Day 2023

Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) takes place on 27th January each year and is the day for everyone to remember the millions of people murdered in the Holocaust, under Nazi persecution, and in the genocides which followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia, and Darfur.

World War Two and the 'Idle Women'

To mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day, we spoke with local historian Jill Oakland about the little-known story of the efforts of the Inland Waterway women or 'Idle Women' who volunteered to operate canal boats carrying vital goods and supplies during the Second World War.
