Love reading? Then why not join our Riverside Reading Club? This welcoming group meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 2pm.

The Club will be reading Homecoming by Kate Morton over the next month and meeting to discuss it on Tuesday 6th February 2-3pm.

It's free to join the Riverside Reading Club and there's no need to book.

Come and join our friendly open art group. Every Wednesday evening from 7-9pm at the Canalside Heritage Centre we host varied life drawing study with a roster of live models. The sessions are informal, fun, untutored and open to all abilities. Refreshments and basic drawing materials are included. £10 per person.
Holocaust Memorial Day 2023

Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) takes place on 27th January each year and is the day for everyone to remember the millions of people murdered in the Holocaust, under Nazi persecution, and in the genocides which followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia, and Darfur.

World War Two and the 'Idle Women'

To mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day, we spoke with local historian Jill Oakland about the little-known story of the efforts of the Inland Waterway women or 'Idle Women' who volunteered to operate canal boats carrying vital goods and supplies during the Second World War.
