What it's all about

Since 1999, International Men’s Day has been used to recognise the positive differences men make in our communities and also as a platform to raise awareness about issues that affect men. The theme for 2022 is "Helping Men and Boys".

  • In 2019 suicide was the largest cause of death for men aged 20-49.
  • 3 out of 4 suicides in the UK are by men.

This month, why not support Movember?

Movember 2022’s campaign looks at issues concerning prostate cancer, testicular cancer and men’s mental health and suicide. It looks at mental health through a male lens, focusing on prevention, early intervention and health promotion, and is working towards a world where men take action to be mentally well, and are supported by those around them.

Equation is a Nottingham based specialist charity working to reduce the impact of domestic abuse, sexual violence and gender inequality. They run Nottinghamshire’s service for men experiencing domestic abuse.
