Helping children with additional needs to develop through play

As we continue to develop the programme for children at Canalside Heritage Centre, we would like to look at how we can improve what we can  offer for children with additional needs by running monthly sensory play sessions. To do this, we need help fundraising for some essential sensory equipment including lighting, dens and tactile objects.

Sensory play can really help early years children with building their cognitive, motor and problem solving skills, as well as improving their social interactions.

With the budgets of Local Authorities and schools increasingly squeezed, we want to offer local families the chance to come to the Heritage Centre for relaxed activities which will really benefit them. The total cost of the equipment needed is £350.00 and includes; a massage basket, sensory hand-held lighting, a large blackout den, a bubble tube, an ocean wave projector, a kaleidoscope ball, a sensory rainbow cascade, liquid floor tiles and bean bags.

Please do consider helping us in purchasing this equipment. As a small, independent charity (Charity No: 1155914) any donation, no matter the amount will really help us make a difference to the local community.
