It costs over £500 per day just to keep the Heritage Centre open. As a small, independent charity we rely on the kind support of the general public in order to offer activities, events, education sessions and training opportunities that benefit the local community.

The Canalside Heritage Centre has been transformed into what were once a set of derelict Weir Cottages to a vibrant hub for visitors to enjoy, explore and discover the heritage of the waterways.

Our mission is to:

Work with the local community to tell the story of the Beeston and Nottingham Canal and River Trent, encouraging people to engage with the waterways to help preserve their past, present and future.

Our vision is:

For as many people as possible to have access to the waterways, their heritage and enjoy the health and wellbeing benefits of this interaction.

In the past year we have achieved the following:

Every donation, no matter the amount, really does help. Please consider supporting our work with the local community.
